The following position is available with the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education.
INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST
Resource Center
Implement a process for review and revision of standards for instructional delivery. Identify instructional support resources in collaboration with educators, advisory committees, and other stakeholders. Develop a process for reviewing and sharing teacher-created digital resources. Collaborate with teachers, state agency staff, and other strategic partners about resource needs and strategies.
Familiarity with industry skill standards; competency-based instruction; and scope and sequence of instruction. Strong organizational skills, time management skills, initiative, and teamwork skills. Familiarity with MS Office suite, particularly Word and PowerPoint. Experience using learning management systems in education. Ability to use major virtual meeting platforms. Knowledge and experience with instructional design/delivery and industry standards for instruction.
Position officed on-site at CareerTech in Stillwater, OK. Some in-state travel may be required, including overnight travel. Hiring is contingent upon successful completion of background check.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
Bachelors degree in Education, Occupational and Adult Education, Instructional Design, or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in related field.
PREFERRED:
Three to five years of teaching experience in career and technology education.
Masters degree
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Implement a process for standards review and revision in collaboration with teachers and stakeholders.
2. Facilitate meetings of subject matter experts and teachers.
3. Support agency divisions on issues relating to instruction in career and technology education.
4. Develop instructional support resources in collaboration with educators, industry advisory committees, and other stakeholders, including curriculum standards.
5. Develop a process for reviewing and sharing teacher-created digital resources, including lesson plans, presentations, student activities, rubrics, and similar resources.
6. Access external instructional resources for sharing, as requested.
7. Maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders in industry and education.
Salary/Benefits: $56,985.95 - $63,421.34 commensurate with education or experience. Total salary and benefits package valued at $69,536.53 - $76,456.30.
