Inventory Supervisor
The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating inventory planning, procurement, and warehouse operations to ensure uninterrupted production and on-time delivery to customers. Additionally, the position will analyze inventory levels and maintains an adequate inventory of finished goods, semi-finished goods and parts. Facilitate usage of slow moving and obsolete inventory. Will oversee a cross-functional team including warehouse personnel, buyers, production planners, and material handlers, while actively managing supplier relationships, negotiating commercial terms, and maintaining accurate production and purchasing data across ERP systems. Promote a safe and healthy work environment.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Plan, control, and optimize inventory levels to support production schedules while minimizing excess and obsolete stock
- Develop, implement, and maintain a cycle counting program to ensure ongoing inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Analyze cycle count results, identify root causes of variances, and lead corrective and preventive actions
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory transactions, bills of material, production orders, and purchase orders
- Monitor material availability and proactively address shortages, constraints, or excess inventory risks
- Establish inventory control procedures, audit practices, and physical inventory readiness
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse staff, buyers, production planners, and material handlers
- Coordinate daily and weekly activities across purchasing, planning, warehouse, and production functions
- Assign priorities, track workload, and ensure alignment with production and customer delivery schedules
- Set performance expectations, track KPIs, and drive accountability across inventory and supply teams
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure material quality, cost competitiveness, and delivery performance
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities, and supply agreements
- Monitor and improve supplier on-time delivery (OTD), responsiveness, and corrective action effectiveness
- Identify alternative suppliers to reduce risk and improve supply continuity
- Maintain accurate and timely data within ERP/MRP systems for production orders, purchase orders, inventory balances, and supplier records
- Ensure timely processing and closure of production orders and purchase orders
- Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements
- Lead initiatives to improve inventory accuracy, inventory turns, material flow, and warehouse efficiency
- Support lean manufacturing, S&OP, and demand planning efforts
- Participate in cross-functional projects focused on cost reduction, service improvement, and process standardization

- Able to work in a fast paced environment and work well under pressure.
- Forklift certificate.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience), preferred
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in inventory control, materials management, or supply chain operations
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Strong supplier negotiation and vendor management experience
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel
APICS CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management), preferred
APICS CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), preferred
CTSC (Certified in Transformation for Supply Chain), preferred
